The Wake County Chapter proudly Makes Endorsements for the Morrisville Town Elections

The Wake County chapter of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association recently hosted candidate interviews for those seeking election/re-election to the Morrisville Town Council. On September 17, 2009, candidates for Mayor, District 2, District 4, and an At-large race met with a screening committee to discuss issues of vital importance to the PBA and the law enforcement profession.  These issues include 25 year retirement for law enforcement officers, due process for municipal law enforcement officers, and the expansion of disability retirement benefits for officers who become seriously injured in their first year of duty and have to medically retire. Future opportunities for the PBA to meet with elected officials on matters of public concern were also part of the discussion.

PBA members Tim Hendrickson, Dean Grindle, Michael Driesbach, and Jon MacBride volunteered their time to serve on the screening committee. Based on the screening committee’s recommendations the Wake County chapter Board of Directors voted to endorse the following candidates in the November 3rd election. The endorsements are as follows: Mayor – Jackie Holcombe, District 2 – Steve Diehl, and At-Large – Tommy Murry

Jon MacBride, Dean Grindle, Candidate Tom Murry at large, Tim Hendrickson.

Dean Grindle Candidate district 2 Steve Diehl, Tim Hendrickson.
