Congratulations goes out to the following Raleigh Chapter members
on their recent promotions with the Raleigh PD!
Sergeant D.G. Bean joined the RPD on
May 8, 1989 as a member of the 56th Academy. She was promoted to
Detective in May 2001 and to Sergeant in December 2006. When Bean
was promoted to Sergeant, she was assigned to the Southeast
District, where she has served for nearly four years.
Sergeant M.A. Bruce joined the RPD on June 4, 1990. After
graduating from the 57th Academy, Bruce served as a patrol officer
until January 1998, when he was promoted to Detective. Bruce was
promoted to Sergeant in December 2006, and has served as a patrol
supervisor in the North District for nearly four years.
Sergeant R.C. Council joined the RPD on June 21, 1993. After
graduating from the 61st Academy, he served as a patrol officer for
several years before being selected to join the Selective
Enforcement Unit. Council was promoted to Sergeant in October 2003,
and served as a patrol supervisor in Field Operations before he was
chosen to serve in his current assignment as training sergeant at
the RPD Range.
Sergeant A.M. Fernandez joined the RPD on August 3, 1987 as a
member of the 53rd Academy. She served as a patrol officer and
community policing officer until April 1996, when she was chosen to
serve on the K-9 Unit. In November 2001, she was promoted to
Sergeant, and served in the Downtown District as a patrol supervisor
until she was selected to her current assignment as Field Operations
Staff Sergeant in August 2005.
Sergeant F.K. Heineman III joined the RPD on August 8, 1994.
After graduating from the 63rd Academy, he served as a patrol
officer until his promotion to Corporal in June 1999. As a corporal,
Heineman served in Field Operations and was a member of the
Selective Enforcement Unit. In October 2006, he was promoted to
Sergeant. He currently serves as a patrol supervisor in the
Southeast District.
Sergeant S.M. Jackson joined the RPD on June 4, 1990. After
graduating from the 57th Academy, Jackson served as a patrol officer
on “C” Platoon before being chosen to join the Selective Enforcement
Unit in October 1994. When he was promoted to Sergeant in November
2004, Jackson served as a patrol supervisor in the Downtown District
for two years before returning to SEU, where he has remained for
nearly four years. Jackson will be promoted on December 8.
Sergeant T.A. Klein joined the RPD on October 19, 1992. After
graduating from the 60th Academy, Klein served as a patrol officer
for five years before being promoted to Detective in March 1998. As
a detective, Klein served on Drugs and Vice, the Drug Task Force,
and the Homicide Unit. Klein was promoted to Sergeant in October
2003, and has served in Field Operations, the Threat Assessment
Unit, and the Family Violence Intervention Unit. He is now the
supervisor of the Crime Analysis Unit.
Sergeant B.N. Quick joined the RPD in June 1993 as a member
of the 61st Academy. Quick served as a patrol officer on “C” Platoon
and “A” Platoon, and remained on “A” Platoon after his promotion to
Corporal in June 1999. Quick became a detective in May 2001, and
served on Drugs and Vice and the Criminal Enterprise Unit. When he
was promoted to Sergeant in October 2006, Quick was assigned to the
Northeast District until he was selected to supervise the Fugitive
Unit in March 2008.
Sergeant J.T. Sholar joined the RPD in December 1988. After
graduating from the 55th Academy, Sholar was assigned to “B”
Platoon, where she rode a beat until her promotion to Detective in
April 1996. Sholar served on the Homicide Unit until June 1999, when
she was promoted to Sergeant. As a sergeant, Sholar served in Field
Operations, the Detective Division, and the Chief’s Office, and she
currently serves in the Internal Affairs Unit.
Sergeant B.G. Young joined the RPD on May 8, 1989. After
graduating from the 56th Academy, Young served in Field Operations
and Special Operations until his promotion to Detective in December
1997. As a detective, Young served in Drugs and Vice, the Criminal
Enterprise Drug Unit, and the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive
Task Force. Young was promoted to Sergeant in March 2006, and has
served as a supervisor in the Southeast District, the Fugitive
Squad, and the Technical Assistance Response Unit.
