Raleigh Chapter Make Endorsements for Raleigh City Council

 
 
The Raleigh chapter of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association recently hosted candidate interviews for those seeking election/re-election to the Raleigh City Council. On August 4, 2009, candidates for Raleigh City Council met with a screening committee to with a screening committee to discuss issues of vital importance to the PBA and the law enforcement profession. 

These issues include 25 year retirement for law enforcement officers, shift differential pay, range adjustment increases, employee dependent health insurance, and delays in reaching a decision by the Raleigh Civil Service Commission.   Future opportunities for the PBA to meet with elected officials on matters of public concern were also part of the discussion.

Based on the screening committee’s recommendations the Raleigh chapter Board of Directors voted to endorse the following candidates in the October 6th election. The endorsements are as follows:  Mayor – No Endorsement, At-Large – Lee Sartain and Mary Ann Baldwin, District A – No Endorsement, District B – Rodger Koopman, District C – James West, District D – No Endorsement, and District E – Bonner Gaylord.
