On Saturday, November 14, 2009 the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association held a state board meeting in Hendersonville, NC.  Tom Slymon and Tom Lesser attended the meeting as representatives of the NMPBA Chapter along with representatives from other chapters in the state.  At this meeting Randy Byrd from the Cary Police Department was elected as the Division President, Narley Cashwell from the Raleigh Police Department was elected as Senior Vice President, Wardell Williams of the NC Dept. of Corrections was elected as Vice President, and David Quigley from the NC Highway Patrol was elected as the Secretary.  Narley Cashwell was appointed as Legislative Chairperson, Tom Slymon was appointed as the Grievance Chair Person, and Jon MacBride was named as the Membership Chairperson.  The board will serve a three year term.  During the meeting various Southern States Police Benevolent Association staff members presented reports concerning the SSPBA.  Membership Director, Sabrina Dunn, provided a membership report, Legal Services Director, Joni Fletcher, provided a legal services report, Finance Director Wayne Tubb provided a finical report, Communications Director, Tim Reichert, provided a communications report and Police Benevolent Foundation Executive Director, Marlon Trone, provided a report on behalf of the Foundation.
