A bill to allow local and state law enforcement
officers to retire with full benefits after completing 25 years of
service. This act also amends the separation allowance by changing age
62 to the actual age officers become eligible for social security
benefits and by providing that the burden of management of the
separation allowance be moved to the State Treasurer’s Office rather
than the individual local employing agencies.

termination of deputy sheriffs and affording administrative and judicial
appeal and review of disciplinary actions.

credit of 2 to 4 years for Durham City and County officers who obtain an
