Legislative Update

Due to the nature of the short session, the deadline for introducing new legislation was very limited.  Both House and Senate members scrambled to introduce new legislation as the deadline closed this week.

 Per PBA’s last update, S.B. 1985 – Deputy Sheriffs’ Employment Protection/Funds was introduced today by Senator Don East (Alleghany, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin Counties).  This bill was introduced as a local bill and would provide procedural due process for deputy sheriffs in Forsythe County.
