SB 149 – LEO 25-Year Retirement

Still no word on the necessary and previously reported amendments to SB 149, LEO 25-Year Retirement bill. PBA’s efforts in the House with Representative Tim Moore have been on hold awaiting the amendments to the Senate bill. Hope of any movement on SB 149 in the short session is unlikely as the legislative session will end within the next couple of weeks. We are hoping that the Senate amendments, which were developed from round table discussions that included the other LEO associations that support the 25-year retirement bill, will be made before the end of the session. This would at least give some momentum into the 2007 Legislative Session. We will keep you posted.
