2006 North Carolina Candidate Endorsements

Your Vote and Support for PBA Judges This Election is

Critical For You and Your Family

In the past few years, PBA has encountered a steady rise in anti-law enforcement public officials and judges. North Carolina has produced local and state legislators who do not have a clue about what you really have to endure in your job. Fear of public perception and other factors has led to a 300 percent increase of criminal investigations and prosecutors of police officer arising from their law enforcement duties.

Our federal courts in North Carolina, especially our 4th Circuit Court of Appeals have been rendering some outrageous decisions against police officers. A series of bad ruling by the federal courts and the PBA’s recent and unprecedented opposition to the 4th Circuit nominations of Federal Judge Terrance Boyle emphasizes the importance of our state courts as the last option of relief for officers who are unfairly and even unlawfully disciplined or fired.

Our federal courts have told North Carolina law enforcement officers that they can be fired for not lying for a chief, even under oath, that all cops are relegated to a lower standard of Constitutional rights, and that deputies can be fired simply for not playing political ball with a sheriff whose conduct violates state law.

Listed below are PBA’s endorsed North Carolina Supreme Court and North Carolina Court of Appeals judicial candidates for 2006. These candidates have ruled favorably on PBA and other law enforcement cases in protecting and preserving the rights and careers of North Carolina law enforcement officers.

Support, vote and encourage support for these candidates from your friends and family as if your career depends on it, because for the next eight years it does!
