That are Vital to the PBA

The Cary Chapter of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association proudly offered its endorsement of “District D” candidate Gale Adcock during the 2007 municipal election season. Adcock chose to run for the “District D” seat when the current council member chose to not seek re-election. She has also served as President of the North Carolina Nurses Association and has been involved in lobbying efforts for better health care. On August 27, 2007, Adcock was invited to meet with Cary chapter members and discuss issues that are vitally important to the PBA and public safety. Some of the issues discussed included local and legislative support for law enforcement issues, support for benefits enhancement, and budget support for personnel and equipment. Based on the screening committee’s recommendations the Cary Chapter Board of Directors voted to endorse Gale in the October 9th election. According to Cary Chapter President Randy Byrd, "We are proud to endorse Gale Adcock for Cary Town Council in District D. She has a thorough understanding of the issues that are important to our Association and public safety along with a proven record of service to her profession and community."

Adcock, upon receiving the endorsement had the following comments. “It is an honor for me to be endorsed by an organization as well-respected as the Police Benevolent Association. The PBA and I share a fundamental belief in the necessity of a well-staffed and resourced police force in order to assure the safety of Cary citizens." Adcock also proudly displayed the endorsement on her web site and through direct mail advertising during her campaign.

On September 26, 2007, the PBA offered further support for Adcock’s campaign by hosting a “meet and greet” event at the home of member Dave Wulff and his wife Linda. Jeff Fluck the Director of Governmental Affairs for the Southern States PBA was also in attendance. During this event, Adcock was presented a campaign contribution on behalf of the North Carolina PBA.
