On August 27th, 28th, and 29th the Cary and Raleigh Chapters hosted
candidate interviews for those candidates seeking re-election/election
to NC House and Senate seats. The candidates that were interviewed
represented districts in Wake County. The candidates were asked a series of
questions relating to five issues that are critically important to the
PBA and law enforcement. These issues addressed the
25 Year Retirement,
Meet and Confer,
Due Process for Law
Enforcement,
Separation Allowance for Retired Officers, and
Pension Benefits to Spouse of Fallen Officers. The candidate’s
answers were scrutinized by a candidate interview panel & their
recommendations were submitted to the Cary and Raleigh Chapter Boards
for endorsement approval. The Cary & Raleigh Chapters voted to
endorse the following candidates in their respective House & Senate
races.
