Cary Chapter of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association endorses Michelle Muir for Mayor of Cary

The Cary chapter of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association recently hosted candidate interviews for those seeking election/re-election to the Cary Town Council. On August 29, 2011, candidates for Mayor, District B, District C, District C, and an At-large race met with a screening committee to discuss issues that will improve the lives of officers and the law enforcement profession.

Based on the screening committee’s recommendations the Cary chapter Board of Directors voted to endorse Michelle Muir for Mayor of Cary.

According to Cary Chapter and Division President Randy Byrd, “We proudly endorse Michelle Muir for Mayor of Cary. Her background and experience as a small business owner, human resources professional, and community servant give her the vision and leadership skills that are needed for Cary's future. She also has a solid understanding of the issues facing officers that risk their lives daily to protect Cary. A vote for Michelle Muir is a vote for those officers and the citizens they serve.

Upon receiving the endorsement, Michelle Muir offered these comments, "I am honored to receive the support of Cary’s Finest, who work every day to make Cary the safe community that it is. I understand their challenges and look forward to supporting them and to developing a positive relationship between them and the mayor’s office. Their vote of confidence is a reflection of the unwavering commitment I have to continuously improving public safety for all who live, work, and play in Cary."

The Cary chapter Board also voted to endorse Don Frantz in the District B race and Zeke Bridges in the At-Large Race. The Cary chapter board voted to not offer an endorsement of either candidate in the District D race.
