Cary Chapter Conducts Candidate Interviews for Council Seat Appointment

On September 6, 2006, members of the Cary Chapter interviewed candidates seeking appointment to the vacated At-Large seat.  This seat had became available because of the resignation of Mike Joyce.  These interviews came at the end of a process that sought input from 37 individuals who had submitted applications to the vacant seat.   These 37 applicants were sent a questionnaire with questions that were of vital importance to Cary Chapter members and law enforcement.   The candidates had to return the questionnaire in order to be considered for an interview.  Twenty three candidates chose to respond to the questionnaire.   These questionnaires were evaluated by the Cary Chapter board and the applicants were narrowed to ten candidates.   These candidates were then interviewed by a screening committee.   The screening committee chose to recommend five names to the Town Council for consideration for appointment.  The board then voted to support those recommendations.   A letter was mailed before the September 12th work session to each Council member.  The letter detailed the process and how the decision was reached along with the recommended names.   The applicants that were recommended were as follows:  Matthew Danielson, John Harvilla Jr., Don Frantz, Zeke Bridges, and Gil Lowery.10/2)
