Cary Chapter Supports a Cure for Breast Cancer

Chapter Members, Friends and Family form Chapter Team to Raise Money through “Race for the Cure” event

The Cary Chapter recently formed a chapter team to run and walk in the 11th Annual Komen NC Triangle “Race for the Cure” on June 9, 2007. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women. Last year, nearly 213,000 women in the United States were diagnosed with the disease. The “Race for the Cure” event was held on the campus of Meredith College in Raleigh. There were over 22,000 participants and over 1.5 million dollars was raised for breast cancer research. The Cary Chapter brought together chapter members, friends and family members who raised $1615.00 for the cause. Team members also wore a t-shirt specifically designed for the event. Thanks to everyone who supported the Cary Chapter team and their efforts!
