Cary Chapter Supports a Cure for Breast Cancer for 2nd Straight Year

Chapter Members, Friends and Family join Chapter Team to Raise Money through “Race for the Cure” event

The Cary Chapter recently formed a chapter team to run and walk in the 12th Annual Komen NC Triangle “Race for the Cure” on June 14, 2008. This was the 2nd straight year that the Cary chapter has sponsored a team. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women. The “Race for the Cure” event was held on the campus of Meredith College in Raleigh. Over 23,000 participants and around 2 million dollars was raised for breast cancer research which will be distributed among local organizations that support breast-cancer education, patient services and research for a cure. The Cary Chapter brought together chapter members, friends and family members who raised over $2,000 for the cause. Team members also wore a t-shirt specifically designed for the event. Thanks to everyone who supported the Cary Chapter team and their efforts!
