Cary Member Completes Marathon in Virginia

 

Cary chapter member Tiffany Silsbee recently completed the Shamrock Marathon on March 22, 2009 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Her time was 4 hours 27 minutes. Silsbee was born in Raleigh and grew up in Cary. As a graduate of Athens High School, she excelled in athletics. She was an accomplished varsity track athlete during her four years of high school. After graduating, Silsbee was recruited by Appalachian State University to run cross country. She graduated summa cum laude from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in criminal justice with a dual minor in sociology and psychology. During her junior year, Silsbee was granted a scholarship to attend the elite North Carolina Police Corps program. She graduated in December 2004 and was recognized among her fellow cadets for being the most physically fit. In January of 2005, Silsbee began her career with the Cary Police Department. She has worked as a patrol officer and a specialty assignment on the IMPACT team. She currently is assigned to field operations as a patrol officer.
