Officer
Robin Edwards, was recognized as one of
five finalists for the Law Enforcement
Legion of Excellence Award by the
American Society of Industrial Security.
The award was presented at the annual
law enforcement appreciation banquet on
December 9, 2008 in Raleigh, N.C. The
banquet provides an opportunity to
enhance public-private partnerships and
to recognize law enforcement officers
who have made outstanding contributions
to their departments and communities.
The banquet was hosted by Chapter 119 of
ASIS. ASIS International is the largest
organization for security professionals,
with more than 35,000 members worldwide.
Founded in 1955, ASIS is dedicated to
increasing the effectiveness and
productivity of security professionals
by developing educational programs and
materials that address broad security
interests, such as the ASIS Annual
Seminar and Exhibits, as well as
specific security topics. Edwards is
originally from Morehead City and
graduated from West Cateret High School.
She later attended UNC-Chapel Hill
receiving her bachelor’s degree in
Public Policy Administration with
specialization in Environmental
Protection. She worked as a state park
ranger before continuing her career with
the Durham Police department. Officer
Edwards has been with the Cary Police
department since 2003 and has completed
the Traffic Enforcement and
Investigation Certificate Program during
her tenure with the agency. She also is
a Traffic Crash Re-constructionist.
